Growing up: Hattie at Ten Months

I just forgot how to write a new blog post. No joke.

LOL. Maybe I need to blog more? ;-)

Just having too much fun hanging out with this cute, little TEN MONTH OLD! (Seriously?!)

 She's 29.5 inches long. (85% percentile)

She's 17 pounds, 15 ounces. (25% percentile)

Favorite toys: shape sorter & blocks, rubber ducks, maracas, Hot Wheels cars (thanks to Nichole!), books, ceramic bird (hangs from the ceiling... ;-)

Favorite books: Babies, Animals (by Happy Baby), Poky Little Puppy, Are You My Mother?

Favorite things to do: play in the water...

...attempt to kiss and pet the animals (LOL), be outside (preferably playing in the dirt and leaves. LOL), look at photos.

Favorite foods: blueberry pancakes, pasta, sweet potatoes, turkey, peas, smoothies, all fruit,
bananas (she will open up a book and point to a banana, shout some gibberish, and then sign "eat" and make eating noises. it's the cutest thing!)

Loves birds. LOOOOVES birds.
It's become an obsession
(thanks to Jeremy's dad, who also loves birds and showed Hattie all the ceramic birds in his house...
then gave her one to take home).
A day or two after we got home from his house, she started saying, "bird" constantly!
And now she thinks that anything up high is a bird.
Lights hanging from the ceiling at church? Birds. Knick-knacks on a tall shelf? Birds. Leaves on trees? Birds. It's adorable.

She can sign "milk," "more," "potty," and "eat" (but more often than not, for "eat" she just smacks her lips together and makes yummy noises! Ha!)

She can say:
 Mama
Dad and Daddy
Bird (sometimes sounds like "buh!" instead of "bud!" but I know what she means ;-) )
Ruby (well, she says, "Bee!" and points to Ruby. LOL.)
Duck (but she usually just says "bird" for ducks. tee hee.)

She is SUCH a girl. She loves having her nails clipped, her hair brushed, pretends to dress herself, loves to look at nail polish and jewelry. (She crawls into our closet, stands up under my hanging necklaces and points and shouts at them. It's so cute!)

FINALLY fits into size 6-9 month shoes and socks! LOL. She's still rocking her 3-6 month sandals though.
She has the cutest, tiny feet!

Can pull up to standing and cruise along furniture.

*Trying* to stand on her own, but on those tiny feet... she usually just falls. ;-)

Has such a great wave! We call it her "Disney Princess Wave" because it's so refined. ;-)

She finally has figured out that crawling on all fours (which she's been able to do since 8.5 mos)
is faster than her army crawl. She still does her army crawl occasionally, but it's like she then
realizes, "Oh wait! Crawling on my hands and knees is faster!" LOL. :-p

We're doing Elimination Communication a lot more now, and she's doing so great! She actually wakes up from her naps with a dry diaper now, so she can pee in the potty. And she has asked to potty several times (after waking up, after meals and during/after nursing... but doesn't ask if she's playing or reading a book. LOL. :-p) It's just nice to have this added connection and communication with her. Plus, I love changing A LOT less poopy diapers. ;-)

This is SUCH a fun age!
She is still SUCH an awesome baby.
Every single day, I'm SO excited that I get to hug and kiss this cutie. :-)

Growing Up: Hattie at Eight Months

Happy 8 Months to Miss Hattie Camille!

She's 28.5 inches long. (90% percentile)

She's 16 pounds, 7 ounces. (30% percentile)

She's very curious and interested in everything... seems to be taking in everything ...

Favorite toys: balls (her bowls that snap together to make balls...), purple chimpanzee "Chimpy," toy cell phone, toy piano.

Favorite books: still Goodnight Moon and Babies.
And now she loves Jillian Jiggs too.
(It surprises me that she can sit through this WHOLE book!)

Favorite things to do: Skype, look at photos, crawl around the house,
pet the animals (the dogs are over it, the cat still loves it! LOL.)

I said it two months ago, but I'll say it again, this child LOOOOVES photos.
Photos on the wall. Photos in books and magazines.
Photos in my photo drawers (yes, she opens the drawers and pulls them out...
every single day, several times a day ;-) ). I don't want to move them. :-(

... even photos of fit models on the racks at Target! LOL.
Seriously, if there is a photo ANYWHERE, she sees it and *shrieks* with glee.

LOVES her Daddy, and gets SO excited when she sees him or hears his voice
(even on the phone). :-)

Finding clothes for a long and skinny child is quite the challenge. LOL.

Since she's so skinny, she can wear dresses anywhere from 3-12 months (depending on brand/style).

Tops/sweaters are 3-6 months and 6-9 months.
Pants/capris are 12 months.
Rompers... uhh... I think 9-12 or 12+ months. She's SOOOOO long! LOL. :-p
(Onesies are the spawn, I've discovered. LOL.)
See? A challenge! LOL.

Has very blue eyes. People comment on them quite often. I LOVE them. :-)

(This photo is actually the closest to her true color...)

Gets hot VERY easily.
At night, *I'm* wearing a long-sleeved shirt and pants, under a sheet, quilt and fleece blanket.
And Hattie? She's wearing a t-shirt and shorts and lying *on top* of the blankets... ;-)

For the past month, she's down to two naps a day.
(Although she'll sneak in a 3rd if we're in the car. ;-) )

Still loves being swaddled at nap-time.
But hates being swaddled at night. LOL.
Whatever makes her happy... and sleepy... ;-)

Loves being outside.

Loves walks in the Ergo or the stroller.
We go hiking every weekend now that the weather is glorious, and she LOVES hikes. :-)
(Okay, this photo was the end of the hike, and she was *exhausted*! LOL.)

Loves ALL food. But I think smoothies are her favorite. :-)

Started her "army crawl" at 6 months, and she's gotten pretty fast now!

Can go from sitting to crawling. (yay! She's STOKED about this one! LOL.)

Can pull up to standing from sitting.

Can back herself off the couch (no help!) to a standing position.
(Of course, I'm right there to make sure she doesn't fall.)

LOVES to clap her hands.

Can do the signs for "more," "milk," and "mommy."
(Although I think she thinks that "more" and clapping are the same thing... LOL.)

Bathtime is one of her favorite parts of the day.
She loves to splash and crawl around and play with the drain. LOL. :-p

So excited for her first Easter. I actually got us matching outfits. Heeee!
(Okay, not Jeremy, but I should find him a coordinating tie... ;-) )

All in all, she's such an amazing baby!
She very rarely cries, and she's just SO happy and social and loving. :-)
We love her so. :-D

Happy 8 Months, Little Bunny! We're more in love with you every day! :-)

Growing Up: Hattie at Six Months

Has it *really* been half a year?!??!

She's 26.75 inches long.

She's 14 pounds, 7 ounces.

Favorite toys: my cell phone (she doesn't play games on it; she just likes to smile and talk at it... LOL), her trumpet, and Mickey Mouse doll.

Favorite books: Goodnight Moon and Babies (This was my favorite book when I was a baby, and I'm so glad she loves it too. I *highly* recommend it!)

Favorite thing to do: Skype with her Auntie Shaina and cousins.
(She LOVES her cousins! Nothing makes her more excited. LOL.)

Loves photographs and looking in the mirror.
(Okay, she also gets SUPER excited when she looks in the mirror.)

Most of her clothes are still 3-6 months.

Still barely fits into 0-3 mos. tops and sleep sacks, since she's just so gosh-darn skinny. ;-)

She's nearly grown out of all her 6-9 mos. pants and footies (save Joe Boxer... that brand makes HUUUGE baby clothes!)

Wearing 9+ mos. pants before 6 mos. old?! LOL!

Has TEENY feet. Still wears a size 1, which is 0-3 months.
And there's still a bit to go in those.
I'm wondering if she will wear a size 3 by the summer? Hmm...

Doesn't mind strangers holding her. Not one bit.
She LOOOOVES people. LOL. :-p
She gets passed around at church...
to *at least* 12 different people. Hee hee.

Hardly *ever* cries. I think the only time she cries is at night, in her sleep
if she's teething or has a tummy ache.

Has two bottom teeth.

No longer sleeps through the night. :-( It was nice while it lasted.
Now she wakes up 2-3 times. Either teething or... I can hear her poor little tummy growling. :-(
The doc says that once she's on solids regularly, that will help. Yay.
I got so spoiled for five months! LOL. :-p

Has started eating solid foods. Loves everything she's tried. :-)

She's starting to drink out of a sippy cup...
with just a *little* help from me.

Still takes three naps during the day.
Taking two doesn't help the sleeping at night. It makes it worse. LOL.
She needs her beauty sleep, I guess. ;-)

Can sit up on her own.

Loves being outside.

Has started to sit up on her hands and knees... though one knee is outstretched,
so it's technically two hands, one knee and a foot. ;-)

From the hands-knees position, she can push to a sitting position.
(She's only done this three times...)

Loves being either on her tummy or sitting up.
If I put her on her back, she just flips herself over. LOL.

She's just SUCH a sweet baby.
Loves giving hugs and kisses.
Loves to cuddle.
Loves to smile.

And we think she just gets cuter and cuter every month. :-D

Rolling Over.

Okay, so this is a month old (she was just under four months), and I totally forgot to post it. It's just too cute. :-p

So glad to get this on tape. She did it once, just minutes before this one, so I grabbed the camera... hoping she'd do it again right away. Success! :-D

I totally think she could have rolled over long before this, but honestly, she had never even *tried* before this! LOL.
